LION Magazine

The new look issue of the LION magazine is focussed on inspiring young people and the projects they have become involved in.

Four Young Ambassadors inspire us by sharing their stories in this feature. Through their passion for a particular cause, they are making an impressive difference.

Young Leaders in Service Awards offers a way to recognise young people who dedicate their time to support others. Through their local Lions Club, Solihull Carers Trust encourages young carers to take part in the Young Leaders in Service Awards through its Children in Need funded, Peer Mentoring and Befriending programme.

Leos are the youngest members of Lions Clubs. Two Leo clubs are featured. Ross on Wye Leos develop lots of valuable life skills, learn how to make their own decisions, take on responsibility working as a team, managing projects and leading groups. Seventeen Fairlop Leos develop a friendship with 17 elderly local residents. They have chatted regularly on the phone through COVID-19, done shopping, walked their dogs and delivered an afternoon treat with tea and cakes.
